BLP Interior Design team expansion News

Billard Leece Partnership expands into Interior Design

Billard Leece Partnership (BLP) is expanding our service offering by diversification into Interior Design.

To facilitate this strategy, BLP has teamed up with THID Pty Ltd (THID) an Interior Design studio led by Director and long-time collaborator, Tonya Hinde who will join BLP with her current employees, and appointed Vicki Murphie, a leading workplace designer. Both Tonya and Vicki will oversee a team of eight interior designers working across BLP’s studios.

The deal coupled with the key appointment strengthens BLP’s position and adds important expertise and experience in the full service offering to BLP’s local and international clients.

“This is an exciting move for BLP, adding to our already strong architectural service offering both nationally and internationally,” says Ron Billard, Director of BLP.

The expertise of both Vicki and THID is an ideal accompaniment to our existing architectural capabilities and will enable BLP to deliver an end-to-end, innovative solutions to our wide range of clients. This is an important aspect of BLP’s growth strategy by strengthening our service offering in our key market portfolios.

Hinde added: “We are thrilled to be joining the BLP family. Our expertise and project portfolio is a great fit with what BLP already offers and we are looking forward to working together to expand the business across Australia and internationally. We will be able to provide an expansive, comprehensive service to all of our clients, given the quality, experience and resources of the combined team.”

BLP has an established 20 year relationship with THID with the first collaboration between the parties taking place in 1997. Two decades later, the strength of this partnership has resulted in numerous collaborations including the internationally acclaimed Royal Children’s Hospital and more recently The University of Melbourne Werribee Redevelopment, BlueCross Springfield Redevelopment, Albury Wodonga Cancer Centre and Hong Kong Children’s Hospital.

The appointment of Vicki Murphie also reinforces this strategic opportunity to strengthen BLP’s client offering. Murphie is a highly experienced interior design professional who has delivered a diverse range of workplace, hospitality, education, multi-unit residential and retail projects for Australian and multinational clients. She brings over 25 years’ experience in the professional interior design field.

BLP Director, Tara Veldman says Murphie is joining them at a time when their presence, particularly in Sydney, is rapidly expanding with many exciting projects in the pipeline. “I am confident Murphie’s design excellence and expertise will continue to strengthen the national leadership team across BLP.”
