Guy Sendy-Smithers, Associate Director

Project experience and career summary.

Guy Sendy-Smithers, Associate Director

Guy’s 19 years of experience, expertise and industry leadership in the area of Computer Aided Drawing (CAD), together with state-of-the-art technology makes it possible for Billard Leece Partnership, a medium-sized practice, to competently manage projects of scale and complexity.

Testaments to the practice’s CAD expertise have been published in Australian, American and European magazines. A reflection of the commitment to CAD, Guy continues to extend the range of skills available to the practice, including the development of 3D imaging and presentation media that include ‘fly-through’ presentations, virtual interactive model visualisation, photomontages and web-based presentations. Visualisation has a wider application to clients as a marketing tool, and is invaluable in expediting development and planning approvals and allaying the concerns of prospective objectors.

Our 3D expertise has been called on by the City of Melbourne, the Office of Major Projects and the Docklands Authority to develop sight-lines for the Federation Square Development, to guide the resolution of the design controls, and at the Docklands Precinct for an urban analysis to assess different building height conditions for the various precincts.

In September 1999 Guy was one of seven representatives, world-wide, invited to be a member of the Triforma User Council, an advisory group to Bentley Systems the developers of Microstation Triforma. This council communicates new ideas and directions for the 3D Modelling software. This continuing role is important to the future directions and use of the software in our office.

Guy was a CAD Job Captain on a number of important projects in the office of Daryl Jackson Pty Ltd including the Museum of Victoria Southbank, leading seven CAD operators, Frankston Cultural Centre, Sunshine Social Security Office Building, Little Chapel Street Car Park Prahran, Royal Melbourne Hospital Redevelopment, Becton residential development, East Melbourne Stage 3 & 4, Princes Theatre Refurbishment, Hellas Soccer Stadium Albert Park, Wesley College Prep School St Kilda Road and Swinburne TAFE College Stage 3.
