Asset Management,

Billard Leece has instigated a system for The Royal Melbourne Hospital, Mayne Health and Barwon Health which allows facilities managers to view the current architectural and fire plans through a customised interface of Bentley System's redlining tool Powerscope.

This system, setup and maintained by Billard Leece Partnership, has evolved over the years to provide an interface that is in the language of the hospital. The menu items are simply campus names, floor levels, building names and room names. By clicking on a floor level and then a building name the user is presented with that CAD drawing. In addition to this we implemented a system for the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) Masterplan, the Austin Repatriation/Mercy (AR/M) Masterplan and the Royal Women's Hospital (RWH) Masterplan using Microstation Geographics.

This program allows us to link database tables with shapes overlaying rooms on the background plans. The database can contain anything the user would like to attribute to a room, including; departmental allocation, room condition, carpet condition, number of staff, number of desks etc. areas are extracted automatically from the CAD shapes and used by the database for all queries. We are then able to create plans with coloured shading that indicate the query criteria from the database attributes, create a custom database interface to display the information and produce dynamic reports.
