Synergised flows and natural light provide comfort in one of Australia’s busiest and most demanding Emergency Departments.
BLP completed the upgrade of St. Vincent’s Darlinghurst’s emergency department over a 7-stage program in constant consultation and collaboration with the Hospital’s user groups and stakeholders.
The progressive redevelopment of St. Vincent’s Public Hospital Emergency Department co-located the Mental Health Assessment Unit, 6 bed Psychiatric Alcohol and Non-prescription Drug Assessment (PANDA) Unit and the Psychiatric Emergency Care Clinic (PECC).
The considered, evidence-based design has improved the flows between the PANDA, PECC and Mental Health Units and increased natural light and views to the surrounding nature to encourage calm in a high-pressure environment.
