Perth Children’s Hospital shortlisted for WAF’s Best Use of Colour Prize

Perth Children’s Hospital has been shortlisted as one of the finalists for its Best Use of Colour Prize at the 2019 World Architecture Festival.

Designed in collaboration with JCY Architects and Urban Designers, Cox Architecture with HKS, Inc. for John Holland, the paediatric hospital was designed for a child’s perspective, from lowered window seats to pops of colour and visual treats at their eye level.

Interior finishes and the building itself are inspired by the flora and fauna of Kings Park, incorporating panoramic 270 degree views to nature, an abundance of natural light, outdoor spaces, private courtyards for patients, and an insipring and light filled atrium. Colour is also incorporated in wayfinding.

Perth Children’s Hospital is also shortlisted in the 2019 World Architecture Festival ‘Completed Buildings: Health’ category in which awards will be judged lived in Amsterdam from 4 – 6 December.
